Can you imagine someone openly mocking God to His face? Here's what that means, by definition:
"To tease or laugh at in a scornful or contemptuous manner."
That would be quite the sight, wouldn't it?
Some fool standing before God and teasing Him or laughing at Him with contempt.
As crazy as that sounds, I know I'm guilty.
I can almost guarantee you are too.
Here's how I know that's true. In the apostle Paul's letter to the Church in Galatia, this is what he said (Gal. 6:7):
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."
You see, anytime that we sow one thing and expect it to result in something other - we are essentially laughing at God's order of things and calling Him a liar. We're mocking Him by contemptuously assuming that we can change the way things work.
